I am using this counterweight to balance a microphone array that I made out of Manfrotto Dado balls and rods. the counterweight fits EXACTLY around the Dado rods and can only be slipped on from one end of the rods. This actually is very handy, because when organised properly the weight will never fall off the rods, even when you loosen the knob.

The K&M counterweight is very well made, looks sophisticated and feels particularly nice in the hand. It contains a plastic tube inside the weight's hole that will protect rods or boom arms from being damaged by the locking screw.
