Ibanez RG470DX-TMN

So, before and all, I love this guitar, and I'm having a blast with it. For the price, having this quality of shred is pretty awesome - so nothing to say here, it's as I expected it.

But when I received it, my first thoughts were "wait what, this looks like it was the exposition model in the shop, or maybe the person who assembled struggled for a while".
The backplate is scratched, and I know it's not really a "visible" part of the guitar, but still - it's scratched.
Every single bolt/screw that was used look like it was forced in, and the paint around is damaged by the pressure.
There are a few very light scratches on the body of the guitar.
The pickups, despite the fact that they were covered by a plastic film (and only two of them, actually, not the three ?) also displayed scratches/dust/worn marks on the edges (where it is not covered by the plastic).
The top screw of the necks (the ones that hold the strings in place right after the tuning pegs) were not screwed in properly (which, in itself, is a detail, I don't mind).
Some of the strings displayed marks above the fretboard lines - like they'd already been pressed/played ?

I mean, yeah, the guitar is awesome, and I'm having a great time with it. But I feel like I purchased a really well-preserved and taken care of second-hand guitar, not a brand new one straight out of the factory. And I can't put these faults on the delivery company either - these are not marks or scratches made by a guitar that moves around in its protective sheet inside of a delivery box. So I'm kind of frustrated, I've been using Thomann for years and everything has been pristine and 5 stars so far, and this really comes as a surprise.

Overall, a great guitar, probably an awesome one for the price it's at, but definitely go and get it from your local store, I wouldn't recommend ordering it without seeing for yourself that it's brand new.

Livraison rapide, guitare réglée correctement, le seul mini défauts est un tout petit manque de peinture au niveau de la jonction manche/corp mais rien d’alarmant, niveau micro ca fait le taf, le manche est une autoroute, les cordes d’origines sonts vraiment bien, souples, et surtout le plus impressionnant reste le « floyd », un moment que j’ai cette gratte et tout les jours ça y va a grand coup de divebomb et de squeal dans sa geule, au debut j’avais un peu peur mais maintenant que j’ai bien testé les limites du systeme je pourrais limite y aller avec le pied en toute confiance, quasiment rien n’a bougé (un petit coup de fine tuner et c’est impeccable, par contre la barre du vibrato a un peu de jeu si elle n’est pas serré fort et elle se desserre en permanence, un petit peu de chatterton dessus ou de Téflon fait l’affaire), il a un peu moins de débattement qu’un vrai floyd ça s’entend en squeal mais Ça reste correct, niveau tenue de l’accordage rien a dire franchement c’est plus stable qu’une gibson a chevalet fixe, pour du milieux de gamme c’est impressionnant

La chitarra è arrivata in ottime condizioni. Il mix di colori è perfetto e dopo averla suonata direi che è un ottimo strumento per iniziare o per chi vuole qualcosa di più di una entry level. Si può giocare molto con i settaggi dei pick-up e il sound è pulitissimo anche con amplificatori economici. Davvero un ottimo strumento sia a livello qualitativo che visivo. Perfetto anche il servizio di Thomann.

Vorab, ich bin eher der klassische Tele-Typ. Ganz dem Motto "Keep it simple but loud". Und dennoch gibt es Zeiten, in denen ich meine versteckte Neigung zum Metal frönen will und hierzu gab es nun für mich die RG470.

Verarbeitung:
Kurz und knapp. Die Verarbeitung ist "Bombe". Keine Fehllackstellen; die Bünde sind sauber abgerichtet und die Hardwear perfekt installiert. Bzgl. der Saitenlage gibt es sicherlich die Möglichkeit, diese für noch mehr "Flitzefingerstylehaptik" zu reduzieren, für mich passt s jedoch so wie ausgeliefert optimal.

Sound:
Meine Begeisterung beginnt nun erst recht am angeschlossen Verstärker. Die einzelnen PUs -Sounds sind deutlich unterscheidbar und gestalten somit die Gitarre als ein Allrounder. Der Bridge HB hat ausreichend Biss und klingt hierbei dennoch ausgesprochen differenziert.

Features:
Besonders gespannt war ich auf das Edge II- Trem. Meine Vorab- Recherche ergab hierbei eine ziemliche Zwiegespaltenheit zu diesem System. Zwar kam die Gitarre (fast) perfekt eingestellt bei mir an, zweimal am Hebel gezogen/gedrückt wars dann aber auch aus mit der Stimmung. Nachdem ich daraufhin die Saiten mit offener Nut ein wenig nachgespannt habe, ist die Gitarre auch bei Benutzung des Tremolos akzeptabel stimmstabil. Kurzes Nachstimmen an der Bridge ist schnell erledigt.

Zusammenfassung:
Für den aufgerufenen Preis bin ich schlicht begeistert. Optisch super gelungen; Verarbeitung toll, Sound für mich hervorragend.
