A great option for an untreated room.

I had to give up my treated room for a terrible sounding one. I'm not sold on room correction software so instead of going down that path, I chose a brand I trusted and got a set of speakers so small, they wouldn't interact much with the poor room acoustics. The drawback is that they don't deliver much bass, but for that I have two sets of capable headphones.

I got the stands for the 8010s also, so I have them at ear height, which makes a big difference. Between these little speakers and my headphones, I'm getting consistently better mixes than I did in my treated room and Dynaudio BM5 MkIIIs (that's not to say that those speakers don't deliver, because they're really good also). Part of that is due to experience, but these Genelecs are incredibly clean, clear and analytical and I trust them for everything from the low mids and up.

When it's time to move to a new, more permanent mixing space and upgrade the monitors I will probably go Genelec again, and use the 8010s as a pair of nice hi-fi, bookshelf speakers :)

The Genelec 8010 RAW is an excellent compact studio monitor. Despite its small size, it delivers a clear, balanced, and detailed sound with impressive accuracy. The build quality is outstanding, and the RAW finish looks unique and professional. It is a great choice for music production, editing, and critical listening, especially in small studios. I am very satisfied with this monitor and would highly recommend it.

Llevo un tiempo usándolos y estoy muy contento. El sonido es frío y analítico, y el grave no es su punto fuerte, pero a una distancia adecuada permiten hacer mezclas muy fiables. Tengo también unos Dynaudio BM5A que suenan más cálidos, pero en salas sin tratamiento acústico se vuelven impredecibles. Los Genelec 8010, en cambio, son mucho más indulgentes con el entorno y te dan una referencia consistente. Para un estudio pequeño o una sala doméstica, son una elección excelente.
