Nice case, but offers little protection.
Alex1993 14.06.2023
Bought this case/guard with the intention of rotating between different reeds.

I learned later on that there are also cases that trap some moisture inside. I imagine those are more useful than this item. This guard also grips the reeds at their playing end, with rubber 'teeth', potentially causing more waviness in the reed edge. In the end, I prefer using synthetic reeds and just storing them in the case they came in.

In conclusion, this is an okay case for people just wishing to keep their reeds together. Otherwise, the features are very limited.

Buy this rather than a closed case if you live in maritime NW Europe.
D.T.F. 09.03.2025
I've used closed reed cases with slots for moisturiser sachets until recently but have come to realise they can encourage black mould spots on cane reeds. Not a good thing ! I admit it has taken a long time for the penny to drop - but here in Ireland (and I suspect much of NW Europe reeds drying out is not really a problem - RH here rarely falls much below 70% and is frequently over 80%. So these open cases are just fine. They would be 5 star perfect if they were made of wood or recycled plastic.
