Fits the mouthpiece and receiver.
As the title sais: the adapter fits the receiver of a large bore trombone (doesn't have to be a bass trombone), and takes small shank mouthpieces, exactly as expected. Nice silver plated finish put's it above cheaper ones that are not silver plated. In what way the actual sound changes between this and other adapters I cannot say because I only have this one.
