Digital camera with the "Hollywood look"

The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Pro is a successful addition to the range of digital film cameras from Blackmagic Design. As with the Pocket Cinema Camera 6K, the heart of the camera is a Super 35 sensor with a dynamic range of 13 f-stops, which can record up to 120 frames per second in Blackmagic Raw mode. Also on board is the EF lens mount (Canon). This makes the camera compatible with a wide range of professional lenses for film and photo. The display on the 6K Pro can be tilted and shines with up to 1500-nits brightness. Those who want to film in bright sunshine with an open aperture don't need to bring an arsenal of ND filters to the shoot, as these are already integrated into the camera with 2/4/6 stops. Two mini-XLR inputs are now also included.

Professional colour grading LUT

Professional cameras record material with low contrast and flat colours. While this allows for extensive intervention in post-production, it makes it difficult to control during filming. The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K also follows this pattern, but holds an ace up its sleeve, because it already shows the result during the recording with a colour grading LUT. This creates certainty and enables targeted creative decisions on set. LUTs can be applied to monitoring only or recorded as Blackmagic RAW files for post-production. The display is impressive across the entire spectrum and discreetly shows false colours, focus peaking, histogram, microphone level and much more on request. To ensure that all these professional functions can be used for longer periods at a time, the 6K Pro model uses the powerful rechargeable batteries of the NP-F570 series.

Turning small into big

The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K can be used for short films, product videos, image films, TV documentaries, advertising videos and even cinema films. Great entry into Cinema cameras

The camera is a amazing, I can't fault it in many ways.
First the good, the image quality and superb and the versatility of the tilt screen in all lighting conditions is spectacular. The ef mount give great flexibility with all my canon lenses. The built in ND filters are great and seem to give little to no cast from what I can see. The Raw capability of the camera is second to non at this price point, and was is a super nice feature when coming from photography with Raw images. The inclusion of DaVinci Resolve Studio with the camera again is another great inclusion as you don't need to purchases an editing software to get started.

The no so great, the camera feels a bit plasticky and the rubber grip has picked up dirt quite quickly. My screen has the slight blue cast but BM is said to fix this in an update soon.

I would throughly recommend this camera to beginner and intermediate video makes/ cinematographers, and even as a B camera/ behind the scenes camera for larger crews and productions. Braw support in final cut and premier isn't great unless you pay for external plugins.

Spectacular camera body! Value for money simply unattainable by any other company. This camera has accompanied me in a wide variety of work situations, moving nimbly from art projects to corporate projects and even documentaries and commercials. The image quality created by this camera is out of this world! The BRAW files generated by this S35 6K sensor are as close to ARRI image quality as one could wish for.

P.S.

Built-in NDs and the ability to record to SSD are a lifesaver in hard and fast shooting situations.

A Superb addition to the trilogy.

Although an awkward shape out of the box, once in its cage and rigged up it's a fantastic camera. You get all the great features from its predecessor, with the addition of Built-in life-saving ND filters. The new Flip screen makes a rigged up camera less awkward to use, and at times can remove the need of a monitor.

Overall superb image quality and very manageable files in 6k Raw. I liked it so much I bought a second!
