The Black Lion Audio PG-2 Type F is a power conditioner for professional-level applications and features 14 filtered outlets with surge protection - 12 switchable outlets on the rear side and a further two unswitched outlets on the front to provide a practical connection for hardware. To cover the broadest possible range of uses, the rear-side outlets are arranged in groups of four that are optimised to suit digital, analogue, and high-current devices, respectively. The front panel in turn features a display and a bank of five LEDs to provide a reliable overview of the unit's operating state. The Black Lion Audio PG-2 Type F is additionally equipped with a USB charging port, and the whole range of features ensures a flexible and customisable power supply as well as a clear overview, allowing high-quality production results in the studio.

Reliable monitoring

At the centre of the Black Lion Audio PG-2 Type F's front panel is a numerical display that reliably indicates what voltage is present at the source, and its brightness can be adjusted using the "Dimmer" knob on the left-hand side. The front panel also features five LED indicators located beneath the display that warn the user of any operational problems. The first LED ("Ground OK") indicates whether the unit has been connected to a properly grounded power supply, while the second ("Wiring Fault") indicates whether any line or neutral connections are wired incorrectly. The third LED ("Clean Power On") indicates that all connected devices are being supplied with clean AC power, and the fourth ("Abnormal Voltage") indicates the presence of under/over-voltage. Finally, the "Protection On" LED indicates that the surge protection circuits are working properly. The user can additionally connect a 12V lamp to the front or rear panel of the PG-2 Type F to improve legibility.

This power conditioner is equipped with premium-grade Panasonic and WIMA capacitors that reduce high-frequency noise by up to 99.7%, while the central display and LED bank allow everything to be monitored closely. Should overvoltage occur, the Black Lion Audio PG-2 Type F will additionally emit an acoustic warning signal. The user can also easily retrofit a thermal protection circuit on the front of the unit, and the PG-2 Type F has been designed with a two-stage system to allow the connected equipment to be switched on and off in sequence.

Optimum noise reduction

As mentioned above, the outlets on the rear panel of the Black Lion Audio PG-2 Type F are grouped to best suit the connected equipment types, allowing analogue synthesizers and digital effects to be operated with optimised power connections, and each group of outlets features a special filter circuit. In the case of the four digital outlets, this reduces AC malfunctions as well as isolating problems caused by digital hardware. The filter circuit for the analogue outlets in turn reduces the audible noise generated by analogue components, and the high-current outlets - which turn on after six seconds so that the startup sequence is complete before any high-current devices are activated, thus eliminating any harmful pop noises - are ideal for connecting loudspeakers. Thanks to this extensive connectivity, the Black Lion Audio PG-2 Type F allows the user to get the best performance out of all of their gear.

Dieses Gerät hat endlich mein Problem im Studio gelöst, das mich schon sehr lange beschäftigt hat. Ich hatte ein schreckliches Geräusch, das ich mit herkömmlichen Methoden nicht beseitigen konnte, und bevor ich mich an die Anschaffung eines Stromtrafos wandte, stieß ich darauf dieser Power Conditioner.
Es hat mir sofort geholfen, indem es mir zunächst mitteilte, dass einige meiner Stromkabelverbindungen Phasenprobleme hatten. Nachdem ich das Problem behoben und sichergestellt hatte, dass meine gesamte Studioausrüstung über dieses Black Audio PG-2 mit Strom versorgt wurde, waren meine Signale rauschfrei und hervorragend sauber. Abgesehen davon ist diese Einheit wie ein Panzer gebaut. Die Bestellung war super einfach und es wurde super schnell geliefert, hatte es in 3 Tagen.

Für Studio ok, sehr geringes Netzteil brummen

Im Vergleich zu Furman PL Plus und Adam Hall PCL 10 bisher der Ruhigste, wenn es um das Netzteil brummen geht. Im Studio wichtig, im Live Betrieb hinter der Bühne wohl eher unrelevant. Die Möglichkeit einer Einschaltverzögerung ist hilfreich. Da gehen die Furmans schon preislich weiter nach oben. Dann ist die Möglichkeit, unterschiedliche Filter für Analog, Digital zu belegen. Das Gewicht des Black Lion ist höher als bei Adam Hall oder Furman. Das Netzteilkabel ist fest installiert. Im Gegensatz zu Adam Hall und Furman kann man hier kein Netzteilkabel schnell mal so wechseln. Die zwei Black Lion Steckdosen im Frontbereich sind auch im Netzschalter aus mit Strom versorgt. Damit kann man schnell mal sich Strom "ausleihen", ohne das Rack komplett anzuschalten. Nice.
Nachtrag: Nach 10 Monaten sind die 4 Digitalen Outlets kaputt. Das Gerät ist zum Hersteller/Service eingeschickt.
Reparatur dauerte ca. 3 Wochen. Fehler der Systemsteuerung wurde behoben. Garantiefall. Vielen Dank, alles wieder ok.
