The Edge Solo is a fixed-cardioid, single capsule, large-diaphragm condenser microphone. Its wafer thin, gold-sputtered membrane, only 6 microns thick, captures every last detail and the full sonic character of the voice or instrument, and offers rich, transparent, and natural renditions. On paper, though a tad under the masterpiece microphones it emulates, the Solo’s specifications are nevertheless impressive, with low self-noise and harmonic distortion levels and a wide frequency response. The Edge Solo is a versatile and capable mic that will work wonders on almost any source, including the most delicate ones – and that’s before adding any of the wonderfully crafted emulations to the mix.

Remarkably versatile

The Antelope Edge Solo is a great choice for those wishing to record a great variety of sources using a locker full of high-end microphones but without having to make a huge investment in each one. The Edge Solo will adapt to any situation, from recording vocals and acoustic instruments in halls or small spaces, to simple speech and broadcasting applications, such as voice-overs or webcasting. It can of course be used in combination with other microphones, for example during stereophonic recording sessions. The Edge Modeling Engine interface is extremely intuitive, which saves precious time and allows for a high degree of creativity. While recording, microphone emulations can be swapped out at the click of a mouse without any interruption. It is also possible to record the signal "clean" and select the best microphone emulation during the mixing phase.

About Antelope Audio

Antelope Audio is a manufacturer of professional audio equipment that was founded by developer Igor Levin, who invented the famous AardSync clock generator with which his then-company Aardvark made waves in the world of audio engineering at the end of the 20th century. Synergy effects and processing for top performance

The Edge Solo is designed to work with any regular 48V phantom-providing preamplifier, and the Edge Real-Time Modeling Software emulations can be executed by the studio computer. However, the Edge Real-Time Modeling Software works even more effectively when used in combination with one of Antelope Audio’s Synergy Core interfaces, which not only provide top-of-the-line preamps and AD/DA conversion, but onboard DSP acceleration as well. This dedicated FPGA Real-Time Modeling hardware processes the microphone emulations in real-time, with imperceptible latency and zero CPU load, taking an already impressive setup to the next level.

Thomann sent registered to another person microphone.

I bought the audio interface which included this microphone by the offer. First, Thomann didn't sent the microphone at all. After the long discussions they sent it separately, but I must paid a custom, again! Which I shouldn't pay, if they sent it in a proper way. They refund the money with fight.
Now, im trying to register the microphone and it is registered to another person. Wow! I can not use it at all. This is the worst service & shop ever.

This is a great microphone! It was sold together with my audio interface Discrete 4 synergy core, I really like the effect of emulating different microphones, the sound itself is very clear. I only use it!

Sounds great but much harder to use then my previous focusrite solo. It took me 2 days to set up the audio interface.I got a bro

Advantages
+ Sounds great much better the focusrite
+ Emulation is great
+ Great support team very frequently answering

Disadvantages:
- I got broken usb type c cable and interface was working unstable I don’t ger any compensation about this cable
- It takes 2 days to set it up
- If you want to use mic emulation in your DAW you actually need ILOK3. It just can’t be done without ilok
- Not convenient that input ports is on back
- Only 2 ports It says that that is 4 in interface. But can’t find how can I use spdif in ports. You only can connect some expensive preamps. So If you need more then 2 inputs find another interface it will be cheaper then bought this preamp.
- You can’t lend somebody an interface. It’s just to slow to resettle this interface
- it takes almost one month to deliver this interface to Ukraine. Focusrite you just connect it and it works without any additional software
