With the AKG Drum Set Session 1, beginners get a powerful drum microphone set suitable for both stage and studio use. It includes seven microphones from the Perception Live series, designed to capture the details of a full standard drumkit – enough for a snare, three toms, a bass drum, and various cymbals. Thanks to their versatility, the microphones can also be used in the studio for a range of other purposes. The set additionally comes with a six-piece accessory package, comprising four H440 rim clamps and two stand mounts for the overhead microphones. All of the components are transported in a durable aluminium case.

Tailored for each component

The P2 is a dynamic cardioid microphone optimised for bass drum capture: It delivers a rich sound and can handle high sound pressure levels. The more compact P4, a dynamic cardioid microphone, reliably captures toms and snare drums, and four of these are included in the set. Two small diaphragm condenser microphones, the P17s, serve as overheads and deliver a natural, spatial representation of the drumkit. For those wishing to capture specific cymbals separately, the P170, an identical model to the P17, can be purchased separately (the P17 designation is exclusive to this set).

About AKG

Goede budget set

Omdat we erg tevreden zijn over de Concert 1 versie, maar graag een set voor in de oefenruimte willen, viel ons oog op dit setje.
De prijs is dik in orde en de kwaliteit ook.
Het valt op dat de overheads veel groter zijn dan bij de Concert 1, maar dat is voor de oefenruimte geen probleem.
Het klik systeem voor op de rand is even wennen en lijkt niet degelijk, maar we gebruiken dit al een aantal jaren zonder problemen.
Het geluid is goed (zeker voor een oefensessie) en we zijn zeer tevreden.
Scheelt weer op- en afbouwen omdat dit setje kan blijven staan in de oefenruimte.

Positief over het geluid

Ik ben vrij verrast toen ik deze set voor het eerst probeerde. De set is in een weekend gebruikt voor het versterken van een volledig drumstel en een Cajon.

Het eerste wat me opvald dat het bereik goed is. De gain hoeft niet niet ver open om een goed en duidelijk bereik te hebben. Dat geld voor alle microfoons.

De kick (P2) heeft een duidelijke bass. De tom microfoons (P4) pakken de het volledige geluid van de toms goed op. Voor de snare ben ik wat langer bezig geweest, omdat ik de P4 net iets te scherp vindt. Maar wat schuiven met de EQ was dit goed bij te sturen. De Overheads (P17) pakken meerdere bekkens helder en duidelijk op.

Het enige grote nadeel van deze set zijn de klemmen. Het blijkt vrij lastig te zijn om deze op de toms te bevestigen. Ik overweeg om hiervoor nog andere klemmen aan te schaffen.

gebruik deze set nu een paar maanden en ben zeer tevreden over de kwaliteit van geluid en gear, klemmen van goed flexibel kunststof, zouden alleen iets hoger ingesteld moeten kunnen worden, maar dat zou evt. op te lossen zijn door een klemmen set met hogere flexibele houder aan te schaffen, ikzelf ben erg blij met deze set!

Goeie set ook voor niet -drummers

ik heb deze set gekocht voor een blazers sectie (de p4 mics). De p2 kan voor een trombone. Het is dan een hele voordelige set waarbij je de p17 kan gebruiken voor 'gevoeliger' instrumenten. De p4 werkt perfect voor trompet, sax en dwarsfluit of voor een gitaarversterker. Serieus goed en voordelig alternatief voor een shure 57.
