The Thomann Irish Concert Bouzouki PU delivers the authentic sound of a real Irish bouzouki at an attractive price. Made in Europe, this instrument has been carefully crafted from solid wood and has a built-in pick-up system, great for playing live or in the studio. The elegant aesthetic boasts a carved rosette and golden tuners with mother-of-pearl pegs, as well as a gold-plated tailpiece. The four pairs of strings (or courses) are tuned to GG–DD–AA–EE, and the bouzouki also comes with a gig bag with a front pocket for storing accessories and two straps to ensure safe transport.
The Irish bouzouki is characterised by a flat back and the Thomann M1089-P is no exception. The solid back and laminated sides are made from maple; the neck is also crafted from maple and the fingerboard from rosewood. The scale length is approximately 66.5cm, and the total length of the instrument is nigh on 96cm. The eight strings pass through a rosewood bridge and a 3.3cm upper nut before being fixed in the die-cast tuning mechanisms. The deep brown lacquer of the back of the neck contrasts beautifully with the red pegs and gold trim of the tuning keys, providing a particularly attractive view from behind the instrument! A built-in preamp with a three-band EQ fitted to the top side panel allows the instrument to be amplified wherever it’s played.
The Thomann Irish Concert Bouzouki PU is the ideal instrument for musicians starting out on the Irish bouzouki and is aimed at both ambitious beginners and guitarists looking for a second, or even third, instrument. Crafted with care in Europe, this extremely versatile bouzouki may not rival hand-made models by master luthiers, but its timbre is surprisingly nuanced. It's great for rehearsing at home, playing during lessons, live performance, or as a trusty back-up.
Thomann-brand instruments, which are exclusively built by renowned manufacturers, now constitute a large part of Thomann’s product range alongside numerous big-name brands. With unbeatable price-performance ratios, Thomann string instruments are the obvious first choice for students and beginners – and others too. The technical features and uncompromising sound quality they offer are usually reserved for much more expensive instruments found in the professional market segment.
Thanks to its maple body and solid spruce top, the Thomann Irish Concert Bouzouki PU produces a sound which is true to the traditions of Irish folk bouzoukis. Its meticulously crafted aesthetic includes several ornate details, and the built-in preamp with a piezo pickup is a major advantage for live performance.
