Solar Guitars A2.6FRPN Canibalismo

I knew I needed a Solar ever since I found out about them. All the specs on paper matched my preferences, but when this finish came out, it was an absolute must for me to buy. I waited for almost one year to buy it, and then a few months to receive it. I have no regrets doing that. I have 15 other guitars anyway so it wasn't a problem.
It's amazing and I recommend it. If you're an Ibanez guy like me, you're very likely a Solar guy as well. This is an absolute shred machine by itself and I don't wanna go on about the specs because they've been covered through the whole A2.6 series. The bottom point is, if you're someone who likes fast necks, jumbo frets, Ibanez, ESP/LTD, etc., you can't go wrong with this.
Not everything was perfect, though. Let's talk about the finish, which was the most important part for me (because the specs of A2.6 are more or less similar through the series), and it was the reason why I bought this one, and not some other Solar A2.6. Don't expect it to be exactly like in the pictures (I mean it's an obvious point, but I got a bit disappointed anyway). I see that Thomann have updated the pictures with the model they received, and now they match more closely the finish I received, which is good for them (I suppose they didn't have any other pictures before, anyway, since they had the official Solar ones). I expected it to be more on the side of the pictures that are on the Solar website (as I've said, Thomann had the same until recently). That finish is 100% for me, 5/5 star, one of THE best finishes I've ever seen. What I received, first it was disappointing because it wasn't as "sharp" as on the pics. With time, I realized it was actually not bad, I just had different expectations, so I'd rate it 90% by my taste. But all this was because of my expectations, and mainly because I was looking at the same pictures for literally a year before I received it. If you take a look at this one and like it, then I'd say go for it. Based on my (very limited) experience, I'd say Thomann now has a more realistic representation of the finish. Also, this was my own opinion and I'm being completely subjective, so nothing I said may apply to your case. I find looks and tones to be a matter of personal preference. Otherwise, 10/10 guitar in my opinion, and I hope to own a few other Solars in the future. Hope this review has been helpful. :)

P.S. One minor thing, but not about the guitar, is that I'm sorry Thomann doesn't sell Solar t-shirts as well, because I really wanted one to come with the guitar. But it doesn't matter, I'll buy one directly from Solar at some point :) this was just a small suggestion to improve the offer.

Okay, this is only my experience and prob differs from others.
Guitar itself is very nice, cool looking, sounds and feels nice, etc.

But here comes things you should be aware about before purchase:
You have to be prepaired that out of the box, it might not be playable at all.
There was some rust and scratches on frets. So i had to do some sanding and polishing right away.
Bridge was totally un-usable before adjusting spring claws. I don't think if it's neccesary to even mention about intonation.
I did read reviews from internet before purchase and i was aware that there might be some quality control issues with Solar. But i didn't expect that it was totally un-playable.
I'm aware that when you buy a new guitar, you have to do some adjustments. And i usually do. But this is total crap. I have bought multiple cheaper guitars and right out of the box, you can just tune strings and start playing. And do some adjustments later to get your new instrument as you like.
Solar states: "...each instrument is carefully inspected and player-tested..."
That is just a bullsh*t, "player" means person who barely know what is guitar string, or Thomann sent me some kind of B-stock even i ordered and paid for new one.
I don't think it's possible that these issues are because of shipment. Except if logistics employee did screw the spring claw.

So all in all, nice guitar, but prepare for work to get this in playable condition.
I hope Solar get their QC better.

Ich hatte vorher auf eine Harley Benton SC-Custom III FR VBK gesetzt. Aber da war ich nicht zufrieden mit dem Sound der Tonabnehmern und dem Floyd Rose, das sofort nach jedem Gebrauch nachgestimmt werden musste. Daher in einer etwas höheren Preisliga gesucht und dieses Modell als passend empfunden. Und ich lag richtig: man konnte den Unterschied direkt nach dem ersten Auspacken feststellen: sehr geiler Sound der zwei Humbucker und das Floyd Rose hielt auch extreme Aktionen ohne Probleme aus. Von daher: ich bin voll zufrieden und der Meinung, das wenn es finanziell möglich ist, man unbedingt einen Blick in diese Preisklasse machen sollte, wenn man eine Klampfe mit Floyd Rose sucht.
