Great but with limitations

Or should I write limited but great? The sounds are great! And the stomp box is great too. It is easy to switch from parts or to add intros, fills or outros. But it’s hard to program your own drum patterns. It uses a manager that’s only available in MS windows. You have to use a third party app to program a pattern, import it via their manager (which is only available as a web based app) onto an sd card. This is very complex because you have to save everything on the sd card to your computer and then add your pattern and then copy the whole thing back. If you let the manager synchronize with the sd card you’ll loose everything (including the pre fab settings) and you won’t be able to use the pedal! I ended up buying some real cool patterns from other manufacturers. They even made it possible to download it on my Mac and provided an installer which installed the patterns on my cars with no problem at all. Why can’t Singular sound do the same? It’s a pitty because without an editor that runs on a Mac and isn’t a pain in the neck to use, the use of this pedal is rather limited.

Previously I used Alesis SR 16 and SR 18. However, this pedal is much better, at least for my needs. I use it for acoustic gigs with my duet, guitar and vocalist. Software is easy to learn...everything can be set in advance so that on your gig you have seemless list of songs, pre-prepared with drum type, tempo etc. Great stuff, higly recommend.

Bons sons mais déçu quant aux rythmes disponibles

Je n’ai la Beat Buddy que depuis une semaine, avec son switch optionnel.
Mon avis est donc très subjectif puisque je suis donc en phase de découverte et d’apprentissage Du reste, c’est ma première boite à rythmes pour guitare ayant détourné avant celle intégrée à mon clavier /arrangeur.

Les plus :
- construction solide - look très sympa dans cette version 10th Anniversary
- sons et plans de batteries très réalistes.
- plutôt simple à utiliser si on l’utilise en l’état
- peut fonctionner sans qu’un instrument soit connecté.

Les moins :
- prix beaucoup trop cher par rapport au résultat attendu…
A voir après une meilleure prise en main ;-)
- certains types de rythme manquent vraiment de variations, particulièrement rubrique ”Latin” : bof bof la Bossa !!!
Il faudrait acheter le mega pack (mega cher) pour avoir un choix réel
- la personnalisation me paraît plutôt complexe pour un néophyte… A voir quand j’aurai vraiment mis le nez dedans.

Je reviendrai donc d’ici quelques semaines pour nuancer, compléter et/ou modifier mon ressenti.
