Op verzoek van veel gebruikers heeft Shure de schacht van deze microfoon iets dikker gemaakt voor een meer comfortabele grip.

De Shure Beta 87 A is een permanent gepolariseerde condensatormicrofoon van hoge kwaliteit met een supercardioïde richtingskarakteristiek voor vocale opnames, die wordt gekenmerkt door een uitzonderlijk lineair transmissiebereik en een hoge geluidsdrukweerstand. Het wordt gebruikt voor professionele geluidsversterking, omroep- en studio-opnames en combineert een uitstekende geluidskwaliteit met de robuustheid die nodig is voor tournees en buitenproducties.

De Beta 87 A heeft een low-frequency roll-off die het nabijheidseffect compenseert en de gevreesde “boomy” effecten van close miking voorkomt. De typische presence van Shure versterkt de hoge middentonen, terwijl het supercardioïde richtingskarakteristiek zorgt voor een maximale isolatie van andere geluidsbronnen zoals zang of instrumenten en een minimale off-axis kleuring mogelijk maakt.

dit is een topproduct, ik gebruik deze mic live als mijn eigen mic ipv deze van de pa-bedrijven
de geluidskwaliteit is uitzonderlijk goed
wel even opletten waar je de monitor zet op het podium om feedback te vermijden

De Shure Beta87 is een zeer goede zang microfoon.
Het proximity effect is quite big whit this mic but I like it !

Great live mike

I used to really be scared of feedback so my main microphone was always a dynamic one.

I finally decided to switch to a microphone that would provide me the quality of great sound and perfect dynamics, and I must say that Beta 87a is definitelly a great microphone, being that I am in a heavier band, I really got surprised how much gain this mike can take, and how tight it's pattern is, there is not much bleed of other instruments into this mike, and compared to the SM58 and the Beta58, this microphone (the beta 87a) to my ear feels like it can take even a tad more gain before feedback, or at least about the same as Beta 58, and it's really a lot clearer than the SM58 and the Beta58. The quality of the sound is uncomparable, there is no contest, this is almost a ''studio sound'' mike in a live performance!! :D

I've had absolutelly no problems in live applications and was definitelly able to turn it up to hear myself really, really well on the wedges. Though if you're going to use a lot of sound processing on this mike, I'd still suggest taking the InEar Monitoring route, as that's still only OM7 area of expertise.

I'm really happy with my microphone, knowing that I have one really high quality sounding mike in my collection, and I can't be happier with Thomanns customer service, these guys rock, will be back, again and again.

I got the Beta 87A, because my voice sounded too dark and boomy when using the SM58. I use it mostly for speech and voiceover.

The Beta 87A is very bright and crisp, which helps a lot for my voice. It also has a lot of flexibility in handling: the distance from the mic which can be used seems to be larger and easier to find for beginners, when compared to the SM58. The proximity effect is quite smooth as well, this makes playing with it a lot of fun. It is a lot more sensitive than the SM58, and thus background suppression is not as good as the SM58. The low pass filter is kind of build-in. I would have prefered a switch to disable it occationally.

At the end of the day, it depends on your voice and what you want to achieve. For me it has worked very well.
