The Sennheiser EK IEM G4 is a professional-grade in-ear monitoring bodypack receiver designed for use with the ew IEM G4 series. Operating in the A1 band (470–516MHz), it delivers reliable UHF transmission over distances of up to 100 metres. Built into a compact, rugged metal housing, the EK IEM G4 provides performers and production teams with clear, consistent in-ear mixes in any environment. The unit includes a pair of Sennheiser IE4 in-ear headphones, batteries, and a belt clip – making it ready to use straight out of the box as part of a wireless monitoring setup. As a receiver-only unit, it is intended for use with an existing Sennheiser SR IEM G4 transmitter, making it a practical way to expand an existing monitoring system.
The Sennheiser EK IEM G4 offers a wide dynamic range and extended frequency response (25Hz–15kHz), ensuring a rich, detailed sound for vocals, instruments, and spoken word. A pilot tone stabilises the RF link, while the adjustable limiter prevents overloads and distortion. The large OLED display provides instant access to signal strength, channel selection, and battery status, even in low-light conditions. Offering up to six hours of operation from a pair of standard AA batteries, the receiver is well suited for live concerts, touring productions, and extended events. A robust headphone output with volume control allows precise monitoring using either the included IE4 earphones or custom in-ears.
The Sennheiser EK IEM G4 pairs seamlessly with any Sennheiser SR IEM G4 transmitter, making it easy to expand monitoring setups as needed. Multiple receivers can be synchronised via infrared connection, while automatic frequency scanning simplifies setup in crowded RF environments. The ew IEM G4 platform supports up to 16 channels per frequency band and offers selectable Mono, Stereo, and Focus listening modes, enabling performers to adapt monitoring to their preferences. With its professional-grade RF stability and HDX Compander noise-reduction technology, the EK IEM G4 ensures a clean, interference-free signal.
In June 1945, Prof. Fritz Sennheiser founded the Wennebostel Laboratory, which initially produced measuring equipment. Commissioned by Siemens in 1945, the young company developed the MD-1 microphone, which was launched in 1946. After the development of further microphones, the company was renamed Sennheiser Electronic in 1958. Two years later, Sennheiser introduced the MD 421 dynamic microphone, which is still in production today and still held in high esteem by many sound engineers. Further groundbreaking developments, such as the HD 414 headphones and the classic MD 441 microphone, hugely enhanced the company's international reputation, eventually making Sennheiser one of the leading manufacturers of microphone and headphone systems in the world.
Like the rest of the Sennheiser ew IEM G4 family, the EK IEM G4 is designed to withstand the rigours of professional use. Its rugged build makes it road-ready, while its flexible feature set covers a wide range of applications – from live stages to corporate events and broadcast environments. Whether providing crystal-clear monitoring for a bassist, giving vocalists the ability to fine-tune their harmonies, or facilitating interpretation at multilingual events, the Sennheiser EK IEM G4 offers dependable and precise in-ear monitoring in every context.
