Equipped with more than 120 effects for guitar and bass, a drum machine and looper, as well as analogue and digital interfaces, the Mooer Prime P1 is an incredibly compact all-in-one solution for guitarists and bassists. Thanks to its built-in lithium-ion battery that holds over four hours of charge, the Prime P1 can be taken anywhere. The integrated headphone jack allows for silent jamming at home and on the move, and backing tracks can be easily transmitted to the Prime P1 thanks to its Bluetooth 5.0 interface. Optionally, a footswitch can be wirelessly connected to the Prime P1 to apply four presets as well as to control the drum machine and looper. Users can also download the iOS and Android compatible Prime App to customise presets and load up to four tones (A/B/C/D) simultaneously, as well as a plethora of other features.

Despite the clean, minimalist aesthetic of the Mooer Prime P1, this unique pedal is brimming with features that can be accessed via the Prime App for smartphones or tablets. It is a breeze to customise preset patches from the numerous downloadable amp models and speaker simulations, as well as dynamic and modulation effects. Users can save their best creations to one of the four "favourite presets" for immediate access via the multifunctional jog wheel. The app also brings together common guitar tools such as a tuner, metronome, drum machine, and looper into one intuitive interface. Last but not least, the Prime App enables user to share and download custom soundbanks.

Creative sound on the go

The Mooer Prime P1's compact form – together with its catalogue of features and high-quality sounds for guitar and bass – make it the ideal "smart pedal" for on-the-go use. This is supported by the intuitive Prime app, which enables presets to be easily customised on the fly using just the touchscreen of a mobile device. And if the range of amps, cabs, and effects wasn't already large enough, the drum machine and looper – with a recording capacity of up to 80 seconds – further expand the unit's creative accessories. The included USB-C cable can be used not only to charge the device but also for direct USB OTG recording to a mobile device. Users can make the most of the stereo sound of the Prime P1 by using the headphone output jack.

About Mooer

Mooer is based in the Chinese city of Shenzhen and has been making products for guitarists since 2010, which include compact single pedals through to multi-effects units and compact amplifiers. The company initially produced a range of mini pedals before making perhaps its most significant breakthrough in 2016 with the sophisticated Ocean Machine delay pedal, which was designed in collaboration with Devin Townsend. Mooer's product range now also includes solutions that feature amp modelling, IR-based speaker simulation, and matching equalisers, and the company's focus remains firmly on the use of digital technology.

Zeer tevreden

Gekocht om te oefenen, te repeteren met de band en als back-up on stage: weinig zin meer in gesleep.

Ben zeer tevreden over de compactheid maar ook de stevigheid; al een paar maal gevallen zonder schade.
Ook het geluid en het bedieningsgemak zijn naar volste tevredenheid: aanpassen van geluid gaat on the fly maar vooral ook zeer eenvoudig.
De tools van de app zoals tuner en drumcomputer zijn een welkome en veel gebruikte aanvulling.

Ook is er een brede community waar je geluiden van anderen kunt downloaden: top!

Een verbeterpunt is de accu: deze gaat maximaal 2,5 uur mee: om te oefenen voldoende maar dat is te kort voor een bandrepetitie of een optreden. Tijdens de rep of bij een optreden laat ik de oplader aangesloten.

PLUSPUNTEN: Goed geluid, degelijk ontwerp, goede app, gebruikersvriendelijk, compact, licht.
MINPUNT: Accu gaat 2.5u mee en dat mag meer zijn.

Serieus veel fun in een klein pakketje

Samen met de Mooer GTRS Wireless Footswitch GWF4 heb je een compleet arsenaal aan effecten en begeleiding (drum machine, looper en nummers streamen vanaf je smartdevice via Bluetooth) in je broekzak.
Dit maakt oefenen een stuk leuker en helpt je eenvoudig effecten te begrijpen en je ritmegevoel te ontwikkelen.
De app en footswitch werken super en zeer intuïtief. De accu gaat lang mee en laat snel op en het geluid via koptelefoon en versterker laten niets te wensen over.
Enige minpuntjes voor mij zijn dat de knop op de prime iets te gemakkelijk te bedienen is en dat ik er (nog) geen volume/Wah pedaal bij heb.

Only good for practice

I tried Mooer Prime P1 as a replacement for my Cuvave CubeBaby (a chinese 35€ ultra-mini-pedalboard with customizable IRs). No big expectations for the sound, hoping it was usable both for practice at home and for "rough" situation like jam sessions, as I have better units for regular gigs.
The unit is sized more or less like a pack of cigarettes; it sports a sound library, possibility of remote control via the GTRS footswitch, and integration with the smartphone, together with possibility of sending backing tracks and a metronome.
I must say though that despite all the nice features, the sounds are quite horrible and I managed to get only a couple of vaguely usable tones. The Cuvave, despite having a really barebones chainn, is anyway more dynamic under the fingers, thanks also to the possibility to add Custom IRs which is lacking in the Mooer.
