The Millenium SD-180 StudioDesk is a workstation of generous size, specifically designed to meet the demands of both recording and music production. In addition to a 180cm wide working surface, it offers two raised shelves for studio monitors, a pull-out shelf for a master keyboard, and two angled 19" racks with four rack units each for the installation of audio interfaces, preamps, and other hardware. If you are looking for a spacious and well-organised working environment at home or in a project studio, the Millenium SD-180 StudioDesk is a real bargain.

Practical design

The two studio monitor shelves are relatively large, measuring 600 x 240mm. They provide additional space for a second pair of speakers, which is necessary when working with a two-way system commonly used in home studios. Since the 19" racks below are angled, built-in hardware can be operated quite comfortably from the sweet spot. With a surface area of 1000 x 400mm, the pull-out keyboard shelf offers lots of space for a small master keyboard or other controllers. A space-saving alternative to the Millenium SD-180 StudioDesk is the SD-120 StudioDesk with a width of 120cm.

Ideal for home and project studios

In most home and project studios, space is not used exclusively for music production. As a result, the setup of the studio is often a trade-off. The Millenium SD-180 StudioDesk offers a cost-effective alternative to such permanently improvised workstations. Since it is mounted on castors and associated equipment such as a computer can be placed on the stable baseplate, it is also possible to move the complete workstation across the room with ease. In this way, space is made available for other activities if so required.

The Millenium SD-180 StudioDesk creates a spacious and practical workspace for every stage of music production. Since the entire workstation is on castors, it is possible to place it in the centre of the room and take advantage of the resulting acoustic benefits - without permanently blocking the space for other activities. Compared to a simple table with separate speaker stands, an adjacent master keyboard, and an additional 19" rack, the SD-180 StudioDesk offers an excellently structured and self-contained workspace.

Mooi bureau, waardeloze wieltjes

Dit is een mooi bureau voor het plaatsen van je monitoren en rack units.

Sterke punten:
Ontwerp is goed, overzichtelijk en mooi afgewerkt. De hoogte is voor mij perfect en zelfs de lade voor het toetsenbord zit op een prettige hoogte. Monitor stands op de goede hoogte, de rack rails werken goed met de bijgeleverde schroefjes.

Zwakke punten:
- De rails van de keyboardlade steken uit, dus je kunt je been/broek daar langs open halen. Rubbertje over het uiteinde was een goed idee geweest.

- De afwerking van het bovenblad is geribbeld met een fake houtpatroon, dus geen gladde ondergrond. Geen dealbreaker maar goed om te weten.

- Grootste probleem: de wieltjes zijn redelijk waardeloos. Ze breken makkelijk en de schroeven zijn te kort. Alleen bij een volledig leeg bureau kunnen ze het gewicht net aan, maar een hobbeltje of bv. je rack units laten zitten bij het verrijden is vragen om problemen. Er rust te veel gewicht op de achterkant voor de twee wieltjes daar. Het zouden er meer moeten zijn.

Bureau dus op blokken zetten, wieltjes bewaren voor een speakerkast of zo.

Mooie solide studiodesk.
Ondanks zijn grote oogt hij niet zo dus een grote plus.
Is zeer gemakkelijk te monteren , alle schroeven en boutjes zitten netjes genummerd en gesorteerd in aparte zakjes.
Ook de lade voor het midi-keyboard werkt soepeltjes en zit op een ergonomische hoogte.

Het bureaublad is voorzien van een kabelgat en er loopt een kabelgoot aan de onderkant vam het blad zodat snoeren aardig weggewerkt kunnen worden.
De studiodesk is voorzien van 19" rack mounts waar je je rack units mooi in kunt schroeven en bieden gelijk mooie stands voor je studio monitoren.
Ook het bureablad heeft voldoende ruimte om derest van je spullen uit te stallen.
De wieltjes zorgen dat de studiodesk makkelijk verplaatsbaar is.

Het enige wat ik eigenlijk nog mis is een ladenkastje maar dat doet niet onder aande funtionaliteit van deze studiodesk.

Kwaliteit/prijs verhouding is subliem.
Fantastisch, zeer solide en mooie desk voor een zachte prijs

Mooi stevig en goed afgewerkte desk

Als je een mooi afgewerkte desk zoekt die niet al te groot is. Het je met deze Millenium SD 18N de perfecte keuze. Makkelijk in elkaar te zetten, mooi afgewerkt en zeer degelijk.

I bought the black version last October which my son now uses in his studio because of the growing amount of boxes he now has.
So had to buy myself one but in the wood and black finish.
I did have a hunt around to see if there were any better options out there since I bought the original but there wasn’t at this price point so rang Thomann to ask if I could have any discount for buying a second one and they gave me 5% off So I placed the order.
It’s still voted the best desk on YouTube 👍
Thomann are using new shippers to the UK for heavy goods and can’t thank the very helpful driver /delivery man enough 👍He brought the boxes up my path on a pallet truck cut the straps holding the both boxes to the pallet and then carried them into my home and stacked them neatly in my hallway.
Both boxes were clean and had just a couple of little scuff marks. I’m guessing this was because they were shipped on a new pallet and not loose in a lorry /vans during the journey.
So I’m very pleased with the new company Thomann are using to ship heavy goods and a big thank you goes out to the very helpful man delivery the goods👍
