Compact and flexible column system

The LD Systems Maui 28 G3 White is a compact, full-function PA system consisting of a 53cm subwoofer cabinet and two 1.54m column speakers with tweeters and midrange drivers. Despite its smaller size, this PA offers full-range sound reproduction up to 20kHz and, with its integrated DSP and wireless plug-in connection, it's not just easy to operate, but can be installed right out of the box – plug and play in the truest sense. Its line inputs with XLR-TRS combo sockets offer flexible connection options, and the XLR line output and two thru sockets mean professional users will have all the cable connections they need. The revised features of this system now ensure even more transparency and punch, with less harmonic distortion and fewer phase cancellations. The system is modularly expandable, which is to say that it can be implemented in either main or follower mode. The third generation of this compact PA is compatible with Bluetooth 5.0 and uses the AAC codec, which promises high sound quality when streaming audio.

Deep bass and optimised high end

Compared to the G2, the LD Systems Maui 28 G3 can now reproduce even deeper bass sounds: Not merely the impressive 45Hz of its predecessor, but right down to an ultra-low 37Hz – thanks to its use of a 12" subwoofer instead of two 8" cones. The twelve midrange drivers of the G3 system now have a diameter of 3.5" and are equipped with phase plugs to enable even more precise reproduction. In addition, the waveguides of the two 1" tweeters are now curved in order to give their sound waves even greater focus, and thus further optimise their phase behaviour. The woofer is equipped with the second generation of the Dynx DSP, which not only features multi-band dynamic processing, but also has FIR filters for the equaliser and crossover, thus reducing phase problems even further. The revised shape of its four (yes, four!) bass reflex ports are designed to help reduce flow noise.

More power, same flexibility

Singer-songwriters, DJs, solo entertainers, and even small bands will enjoy using the LD Systems Maui 28 G3 as a compact PA system for gigs in pubs, bars, youth centres, and at parties. The powerful class-D amplifier integrated into the subwoofer provides 1,030W RMS, making the system suitable for sound reinforcement for as many as 200 people. Despite the simple operating principles of this compact PA, it can easily be controlled and configured manually because the volume of the subwoofer and column speakers can be adjusted separately; as such, the LD Systems Maui 28 G3 provides a maximum sound level of 127dBSPL without distortion. Musicians and event organisers who value a high level of operational safety will find a system here that offers protection circuits against overloading, overheating, short circuits, and D/C problems. This white version of the G3 is particularly suited to sound reinforcement in churches, chapels, and other places of worship; the classic black version is so understated it can be used almost anywhere.

From lecture halls to trade fairs

The robust construction of the LD Systems Maui 28 G3 White (the subwoofer is made of birch plywood with a polyurea coating) will be a huge plus for anyone who has to transport their PA to gigs and other locations. Thanks to the wireless multipin connection, the whole system can also be installed and dismantled in no time at all. The column speaker is easy to transport, weighing in at 12.6kg (under 30lbs), because its housing is made of powder-coated aluminium, making it robust yet lightweight. The third-generation subwoofer now has four carrying handles, so its 22.8kg (about 50lbs) weight is even easier to carry. If the system is optimised by adding a second subwoofer, a cardioid bass dispersion pattern can be activated, making it perfect for use in targeted sound reinforcement at trade fair stands, for example. However, the system can also be used for readings and lectures, utilising its ability for precise sonic targeting.

In the spotlight: FIR filters

The abbreviation FIR filter stands for finite impulse response filter, which is a type of digital filter that reproduces an analogue input signal by means of a finite impulse response. FIR filters (also described as non-recursive filters) have been used approximately since the 1990s for the purpose of linear phase equalisation in loudspeakers or steep slope filtering in crossover filters. They provide a solution to the common problem of phase shifting that occurs in PA systems using filters. By preventing these shifts, FIR filters ensure a more precise and powerful sound in loudspeakers. Thanks to the particularly high performance delivered by modern digital controllers, digital power stages are now capable of implementing FIR filters that provide a sufficiently low latency for PA purposes. At low frequencies, however, FIR filters can cause audible artefacts (pre-ringing).

I love this speakers they look so nice and sound very good! is perfect to handle 200-300 people in venues and on the stage around 80-100 people

Erstes Wochenende mit den Mauis

Ich hatte das Vergnügen, die Maui 28 G3 in weiß auf drei aufeinanderfolgenden Hochzeiten zu verwenden und ich bin einfach begeistert! Die Klangqualität war absolut Sauber und das Klangerlebnis war einfach der Hammer.

Die Installation der Boxen war schnell und einfach, was man ja von Säulensystemen kennt. Das System war einfach zu bedienen und ich konnte es problemlos anpassen, um den Bedürfnissen jeder Veranstaltung gerecht zu werden.

Das weiße Design der Maui 28 G3 war eine perfekte Ergänzung für die Hochzeitsdekoration und zu meiner weissen GigBar Move und trug zur Eleganz der Veranstaltung bei. Ich erhielt viele Komplimente für den tollen Sound und ich denke, dass es auch einen großen Teil dazu beigetragen hat, dass die Gäste die Musik und die Atmosphäre genießen konnten.

Ich war wirklich beeindruckt von der Klarheit und Präzision der Musik und die Bässe waren einfach unglaublich. Sehr drucklastig für 12er.Das Klangerlebnis war wirklich erstklassig und hat dazu beigetragen, dass die Gäste die Tanzfläche in vollen Zügen genossen haben.

Alles in allem würde ich die Maui 28 G3 in weiß jedem empfehlen, der nach einem leistungsstarken, zuverlässigen und gleichzeitig tragbaren Soundsystem sucht. Die Klangqualität und das Design sind einfach fantastisch und ich freue mich einfach das ich sie habe.

Après avoir possédé plusieurs systèmes son assez lourd ( 70 kg x2) j’ai décidé de m’orienter vers des systèmes colonnes pour mon dos , j’en ai tester 3 au total : le L1PRO16 de chez Bose, le LD maui 28g2 et le 30 M de chez EV.

Après avoir pu comparer et essayer ces 3 dernier en prestation, je trouvais que le son du L1 pro 16 dépassait de loin les 2 autres systèmes mais le pilier de ce dernier laissait à désirer… bien que le 30 M était assez équilibré mais manquait de basses et le 28g2 manquait de basses aussi c’est la réflexion que je me suis faite

C’est alors que curieux j’ai vu le 28G 3 arrivé sur le marché, je me suis empressé d’aller l’écouter en magasin. Je suis clairement tomber sur le cul ! Il corrige largement le manque de basse du 28g2.

Les tweeter en haut emmene le son plus loin et surtout on sent bien les 1030 Wrms !

Le système d’emboîtement aussi lui bien plus fiable que sur le Bose L1pro 16 qui assure une bonne solidité une fois monté.

Au final j’ai acheté 2 système maui 28G3 et vous savez quoi ? J’en suis ravi ! Les clients me complimente sur la qualité du son et le fait que ça ne leurs casse pas les oreilles.

Et moi j’en suis heureux car en blanc d’une ça envoi et ça change du traditionnel noir et je dit merci LD pour mon dos et cette grosse évolution en matière de système colonne. Pour des prestations en intérieur 250 personnes ça passe très bien dans une salle de 600 m2 et il y a de la réserve encore et encore ! Tester aussi en extérieur bon ça vaut pas le 44g2 que j’ai pu entendre mais j’ai pu m’en servir pour 150 personnes et ça l’a fait, la piste faisait je dirais 400 m2 lol.

Enfin bref merci LD, merci Thomann reçu en 4 jours chrono en France 🇫🇷 top de chez top et parfaitement bien emballé !

Für Hochzeiten genau das richtige

Ich habe schon seit langen ein System gesucht, welches einen sehr guten Klang, ein angemessenes Gewicht und eine schöne Optik hat. Das Maui System hat mich sofort überzeugt. Die einfache Handhabung und die Qualität sind unfassbar gut. Das Boxensystem kann man (ohne sich zu beeilen) innerhalb von einer Minute aufbauen, was für mich als mobiler DJ einfach unfassbar gut ist. Die Taschen sind zwar teuer, aber absolut empfehlenswert.

Kein mitschleppen von Stativen oder großen Satelliten, geschweige denn schweren Subs. Die Satelliten oder Subs der Maui kann man problemlos alleine tragen und montieren. Die Maui fühlt sich sehr hochwertig an und so klingt sie auch.

Ich habe die Maui ein Wochenende lang testen können und habe von beiden Kunden Komplimente bezüglich der Si
Soundqualität der Musik erhalten. Die weiße Optik ist optimal für Hochzeiten. Die Boxen passen perfekt zu meinen weißen Stempeln, weißen Movingheads, weißen Spots und Kabeln, die ich sonst immer verbaut habe.

Alles in allem ein sehr gutes Set, was vom Preis unschlagbar ist. Man sollte sich jedoch zwei von den Systemen anschaffen. Die Bluetooth Funktion ist zwar nett, brauch man aber nicht wirklich.
