So guitar arrived on Friday and it looks stunning the red really pop,s the flame on mine won't win any beauty pageant but looks good now the frets are rough and the back of the neck is sticky the elixir strings are not for everyone they feel stiff and rough, action sky high the guitar plays poorly and after fighting it for an hour I reboxed it ìf I played it in a shop I wouldn't have given it a second thought so I when back to my trusty max fusion.
Then come today Sunday and I decided no let's use my 18 years of guitar repair and get this thing on the bench so off with the terrible elixir strings (there goes my endorsement deal) I straighten the neck dropped the action got my fret crowning file and gave each fret a few passes followed by 1000 grit and 3000 and then a Polish next I opened the trem cover and to my horror there was 4 springs and the smallest trem claw so removed 2 springs and then put on a set of Ernie 9,s and got the action to 1.75 on the bass and 1.5 on the treble side after reballancing the trem now the guitar is fantastic plays effortlessly, I would still like to see jumbo frets on this as the frets are tiny it's like putting bicycle wheels on a ferrari but a heck of alot of guitar for little money but maybe a few qc issues need addressing as the dot inlays are too deep in the fretboard you can feel the dip and side markers are not flush so you feel them but in fairness it's €444 so still incredible
Jumbo frets on the next run please
