Mediocre sound but great craftsmanship

Even with a fresh set of strings, the sound is wooly and dull with poor definition in the lows and very little highs to speak of — adjusting the pickups doesn't do a whole lot either. I suspect the pickups aren't exactly top of the line, which I guess is to be expected from a guitar in this price range.

However, the neck is to die for. I'm usually alright with most necks, thick, thin, wide, narrow, they're all fine, but this particular one is just perfect for me. The rest of the guitar feels good too; very light, but not in a flimsy way.

I hope there's a way to address the sound issue because I really like the feel (and look) of this guitar.
