Just perfect
Was looking for a snare to play with 50/50 stick and brushes with a decidedly vintage set up. (Evans Calftone head and loose snare wires)
This snare is perfect for that.
I've had quality snares from Sonor, DW, PDP and Tama and this is the happiest I've been with a new snare in 20 years!
I asked a drummer friend to listen to and play the drum and guess the price. He estimated the price to be in the 500€ range.
(Caveat here: I've worked as a professional drum tech so I know a bit about tuning and optimizing a drum.)
Out of the box I experimented with tuning range and dynamics from softest ghost notes to ringing rimshots and on the suplied Remo head and the drum does'nt choke up even at higher tunings.
Great value to play out of the box and responded well to changing the heads and snarewires.
