Tim Armstrong, the founding member of the Grammy Award-winning punk band Rancid, didn't become famous by gently strumming an acoustic guitar. Yet, as a songwriter and producer, he has regularly turned to his old "concert-style" Fender acoustic for inspiration and composition. In tribute, Fender has created the signature Tim Armstrong Hellcat Acoustic, which retains the concert-sized body of the original, in all its eye-catching glory, while adding a high-quality Fishman pickup system - allowing it to shine on stage as well. The Tim Armstrong Hellcat's slender appearance belies the richness of its sound, which is exceptional for an instrument of this size. Its mahogany construction with scalloped X bracing under the solid top delivers plenty of volume together with a warm and percussive sound, which is perfectly captured by the Fishman Isys III preamp. This system in turn generates a strong enough signal for any amplifier or mixer. With its three-band EQ, built-in tuner, and preamp system, this guitar offers everything players need in terms of amplification, sound shaping, and tuning stability. Fender has not skimped on the visuals, either: The Tim Armstrong Hellcat features special "Hellcat" fingerboard inlays and a "double skull" motif at the 12th fret, making the guitar as striking to look at as it is to play.

Unglaubliches Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis

Auf der Suche nach einer Westerngitarre habe ich diese Gitarre bei einem Besuch im Thomann-Shop bei Nürnberg einfach so, ohne sie mir davor angeschaut zu haben, aus dem Ständer genommen, angespielt und war sofort verliebt.

Keine - auch nicht eine der wirklich teuren Akkustikgitarren - lag mir derartig gut in der Hand wie diese.
Der Akkustiksound ist trotz des relativ kleinen Korpus von der Lautstärke her wirklich brauchbar und das Klangverhalten kann es in meinen Augen durchaus mit Westerngitarren der "1000-2000-Euroklasse" aufnehmen.

An der Feinstimmung lässt sich auch absolut nichts aussetzen, die Bespielbarkeit ist gut und an den Verstärker angeschlossen lassen sich mit den richtigen Einstellungen edle Akkustiksounds erzeugen.
Nach wenigem Hadern wegen der recht gewöhnungsbedürftigen Griffbrettinlays habe ich die Gitarre dann im Cyberstore bestellt und spiele sie jetzt seit mehreren Monaten ohne dass irgendwelche Mängel aufgetreten sind.

Letztenendes ist die Klampfe bei diesem Preis eigentlich ein "Muss" für jeden, der auf der Suche nach einer guten Westerngitarre ist, wenig Geld zur Verfügung hat und die Griffbrettinlays einigermaßen verkraften kann.

Die Hellcat akustisch gespielt (ohne Abnehmer) ist sehr ausgeglichen im Klang. Es ist keine laute Gitarre Etwas stärker angespielt hat sie aber durchaus Dynamik. Die Werkssaiten habe ich gleich ausgetauscht gegen Martin MSP Phosphor Bronze 012-052, war ein deutlicher Gewinn an Klang und Lautstärke. Verabeitung und Optik sind einwandfrei.

Richtig los geht es aber abgenommen, sowohl das Pickup als auch der Fishman ISYS Preamp sind ziemlich hochwertig, der Klang kommt sehr authentisch rüber und klingt über die PA absolut bluesig, weniger mit Bassgebrumm, eher klar und präsent/mittig mit einem eigenen Mahagony-Sound.

Bin echt happy über die Erweiterung im Sound, spiele sonst Martin D35 & XC1T, aber für den Preis (war eher eine Laune für den Urlaub - ich fand die Optik super) bin ich echt platt für eine teilmassive Gitare.

Give me the Blues,...

...dachte sich wohl Tim Armstong als er sich mit den Jungs von Fender zusammen setzte. Das Ergebnis ist aller erste Sahne.

Spiele die Hellcat seit ca einem halben Jahr und erfreue mich immer noch an ihrem super Blues sound.
Der Look ist überragend oldschool - Top Gitarre!

ich suchte eine einfach bespielbare und recht kompakt gestaltete Westerngitarre mit vernünftigen Abnehmer.

Bin mit dieser Fender sehr zufrieden. Sie hat sich beim stundenlangen Anspielen im Shop immer wieder verstärkert und unverstärkt durchgesetzt...unter anderem gegen (Epiphone DR-500, oder auch die Sigma Modelle oo-15e und so weiter). Allerdings muss ich auch sagen das man sie probieren muss, in der Band liegt sie nur mir(aber so muss das ja sein). Man sollte hier kein BASSUngeheuer erwarten aber ich finde den transparenten und natürlichen Sound hervorragend. Die Inlays sind für einen jahrelangen Rancid und Hellcathörer gar kein Problem.

Mein Fazit: Antesten und begeistert sein!!!!
