Enough power for an entire pedalboard
The Eventide PowerMAX V2 is a multi-power supply unit that lets guitarists or instrumentalists run multiple effect pedals – with a combined power draw of up to 48W – from a single central unit. Its isolated outputs can power up to seven devices at 9V, 12V, 15V, or 18V, and it even comes with a full set of matching cables. The PowerMAX itself connects to a standard 230V mains socket via an IEC power lead, and there's also a USB port on board, so users can charge their smartphone or tablet too. All in all, this slimline unit just makes the everyday life of a guitarist that little bit easier.
Mix it with the big boys
The Eventide PowerMAX V2 is compatible with high-power pedals from Eventide, Strymon, and other brands. To get everything working, the package includes a full 13 flex cables, but it's what's inside that really counts: The first three outputs deliver a hefty 660mA at 9V, and the remaining four outputs can be set to either 9V, 12V, 15V, or 18V, at varying current outputs of up to 660mA. Users only need to set the recessed mini slide switches to choose the correct voltage – there's no chance of knocking them by accident, which is a nice touch for added reliability on stage. And for anyone needing to expand their setup even further by adding up to four extra devices, the Eventide PowerMINI expansion can be hooked up to the AUX output, which provides a solid 24V DC feed.
Put ground loops to bed
The Eventide PowerMAX V2 ensures that even the most ambitious tone tweakers running setups with multiple pedals have a central power source, keeping their entire board neat and tidy. And the fact that this one-stop power supply fully eliminates ground loops is something that will delight every musician. Working pros and frequent travellers will particularly appreciate the way the PowerMAX works internationally – no hassle with adapters, whether the mains voltage is 100V, 120V, or 230V. Owners of Pedaltrain boards can mount the PowerMAX securely on Classic, Metro, Novo, and Nano Plus models using the optional CIOKS GRIP bracket (article no. 456222). Templeboard users haven't been forgotten either, as the PowerMAX includes mounting points so it can be screwed directly to the board.
About Eventide
The US manufacturer Eventide is one of the pioneers of digital audio technology. The company has existed since the early 1970s and began with developments in the broadcasting sector and digital delay effects. As early as 1974 they unveiled the H910, a pitch shifter revolutionary at the time. The H3000 (1986) was milestone in the field of digital effects and was very popular with professional musicians in recording studios and live performances. The following generations of this model were ever more powerful and culminated in the current flagship H9000. Since 2007, Eventide has also been developing compact pedals, primarily for guitarists and keyboard players. To this day, Eventide's algorithms are considered among the best on the market.
From pedals to PAs
In a home studio, the Eventide PowerMAX V2 cuts cable clutter dramatically, and its status LEDs make troubleshooting quick and easy if anything does go wrong. Four rubber feet keep the unit from sliding around on smooth surfaces – so there's no danger of one little trip messing everything up again! Measuring just 2.5cm in height, this slimline power supply takes up very little space in pedalboard cases, and at under 500g it'll never be a burden, however long the tour goes on. Alongside its compatibility with popular pedalboard mounting systems, it's also easy to integrate the PowerMAX, which ships with mounting screws and the matching template, into DIY boards and racks. And it's not just for guitarists: The PowerMAX is also ideal as a tidy central power source for small wireless setups, which often rely on external adapters.
