The EarthQuaker Devices Spatial Delivery V3 is far more than a standard auto-wah or envelope filter pedal. It comes with some unique features that go beyond conventional filter effects, most notably its 'Sample & Hold' mode: In this setting, the filter is activated at random, creating sounds that resemble a mix of delay and envelope filter textures. Thanks to its straightforward, user-friendly design, though, it's easy to get started without time-consuming setup. The pedal also allows up to six presets to be saved and offers expression pedal control over any chosen parameter, making it a highly versatile option for both conventional and experimental use.
The EarthQuaker Devices Spatial Delivery V3 features two operating modes which are indicated by the colour of the Save/Recall switch LED. In Live mode, the pedal will respond to any control adjustments in real time with any changes having no effect on the presets unless saved. In Preset mode, stored presets, including expression pedal mapping, are selected using the Preset switch, and the physical settings of the controls will be ignored. An additional hold function on the bypass switch lets users toggle between modes on the fly, providing quick access to two different sounds while performing. A TRS expression pedal input on the side of the unit enables real-time control over Range, Resonance, or Filter parameters. This setup makes it easy to navigate a wide variety of reverb sounds, whether in live settings or in the studio.
The EarthQuaker Devices Spatial Delivery V3 offers a wide range of auto-wah and filter effects, controlled via a three-way toggle switch. Create bold filter sweeps in Up or Down mode, using the Range control to adjust the envelope's sensitivity and response time, as well as the width and intensity of the frequency sweep. In Up-Sweep mode, the filter shifts from low to high frequencies, with its intensity changing based on how hard the guitarist attacks their strings. Down-Sweep mode reverses this, shifting the filter from high to low frequency. In the Sample & Hold mode, the filter is controlled by random voltage and the Range controls the speed, creating unpredictable, shifting filter textures. The filter can be crossfaded between high pass (counterclockwise), band pass (center) and low pass (clockwise) for a wide variety of voices. The Spatial Delivery V3 doesn’t just deliver classic auto-wah – it unlocks a full spectrum of bold, expressive, and experimental filter textures, making it an essential tool for players looking to push their sound in fresh and unexpected directions.
