The tube amp expander changes everything, not having to rely on modellers but able to use your real tube amp at its optimum "tone" settings yet still have a manageable volume.
Applying post power amp effects is just unreal, stunning studio tones in a live setting.
I have tried it with many of my tube amps but my Marshall Vintage Modern sounds just amazing through it... polished plexi tones to die for.. being able to hear through the cab the exact tone going to FOH or your DAW..
How Boss have managed to get the Power Amp to behave like its the host amps valve stage with that same thump and dynamic response is beyond me...
It feels just natural and responsive, you can forget you are actually using the TAE and feel the host amplifier.
The onboard effects are just perfect studio quality, Compressors are spot on, the SDE3000 delay setting alone is just to die for, the reverb... perfect.
The Cons....
30 Watt just about cuts it... 50W stage minimum would have been better.
The effects loop should have been movable in the chain and provide stereo in and outs...
The Software is diabolical, gets the job done but just so clunky and slow, the Bluetooth app takes ages to connect, but when it does it works perfectly.
I hope Boss take notice of all the feedback regarding the applications and improve them in the future.
For 699 its a steal
