Best mic for the price, suck it AKG!

Coming from an AKG C3000B, I was looking for a more all-round mic with a honest and balanced sound as possible. I spent some months on comparing mics, Neuman's, replica's, Warm Audio, etc. Every comparision and review this mic stood out to me. It's balanced, well designed and the story behind was cool too (akg fired all their people in the factory in austria and they started this own brand). It's even more hilarious i came from an AKG mic ;-) I don't think there's much better bang for your buck. I also compared them to several AKG 414 and this one won every time. For now i've mostly used it for male vocals and it's pretty straightforward to make it sound good: Apply some EQ dips on the low end,, a double touch of compression (a gentle one, and hard one), then some extra EQ, perhaps a touch of saturation, some de-essing and lastly, sends to reverb or some delay and voila. Have fun

I was initially a bit discouraged with the sound but very quickly have fallen in love with this mic. It is very honest and doesn't flatter an instrument but placed well on a quality instrument the sound is perfect. Easily the best sounding condenser mic I've used on a banjo. Variable patterns would be nice but thats very much nitpicking.

I can't stress enough how good this microphone is. Especially for the price, I don't think you could find anything better sounding.

Clarity of the sound you get is top notch. Recording vocals and acoustic guitar is just a pleasure to do with this mic. Also, this mic is built like a tank, comes with a really nice case too.

If you in a search for a condenser mic in this price range, you can't go wrong with this one. Highly recommend

Affordable high end mic

Great sounding microphone with outstanding off-axis frequency response (no coloration). Put it through an 1176 when tracking and you will have an easy time mixing it. It is less sensitive than other mics, so it requires more gain to reach line level. It is suitable for many applications, especially vocals and acoustic instruments (cello in particular). Overall great sounding microphone and great quality [full stop].
